Compact design

As is only right for a super-fast hot hatch, the new Audi RS3 Sportback is compact without ever appearing slight. The German manufacturer's imposing hexagonal grille stares out from the frontage between impressively angular headlights that are rimmed with the now-trademark LED running lights, creating a car that demands not to be underestimated. With a choice of alloy wheels ranging between 16 and 18 inches, the RS3 Sportback looks every inch the pocket rocket, not that you'll be able to tell as it speeds past you, of course.

Sporty interior

The interior of the new Audi RS3 Sportback comes with sport and customisation as its main distinguishing features. For example, if you choose the Sport Trim the standard front seats will be replaced with a tightly-gripping sport seat decked out in Rallye cloth, whilst the S Line and Black Edition trims add sequence cloth or leather upholstery and an embossed S logo to the already impressive set-up. A further touch of style is added with metallic inlays that range from Micrometallic silver to brushed matt aluminium, depending on which trim option you select.

Engines and performance

As mentioned previously, the new Audi RS3 Sportback is a very powerful and exceptionally fast hot hatchback. It’s capable of travelling from 0-60mph in less than 4.3 seconds, going as far as 124mph as little as 15.8 seconds, making it one of the very fastest models in its range from any manufacturer. The RS3 also produces 465Nm of torque from just 1,600rpm, meaning that it's never difficult to unleash the engine's power.

Diesel and petrol engines range between 1.0-litre and 2.0-litre options. You can also take advantage of Audi's always impressive quattro four-wheel drive system for an even better performance.

Safety and technology

As a high-performance car focused on speed and muscle, the new Audi RS3 Sportback has an obligation to keep the driver and passengers as safe as possible. To that end, the RS3 Sportback comes with six airbags, including a knee-level bag for the driver, cruise control and Audi's Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC), which includes ABS, ASR and EDL systems. There's even support so that you can install an ISOFIX child safety seat with ease.
