Exterior design

Unique T-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights positioned on top of the headlights catch the eye in an instant. The SANTA FE has a striking front angle view thanks to its signature Cascading Grille. The grille’s distinctive mesh pattern flows elegantly into the main headlamps, embracing them for a more integrated look. The SANTA FE’s muscular profile is softened by an elegant character line, which flows effortlessly from the front LED Daytime Running Lights to the rear combination lights. The twin-panel panoramic sunroof fills the cabin with natural light, adding to the SANTA FE’s sense of roominess. The front panel of the sunroof opens at the touch of a button and automatically deploys a wind deflector for a gentle, comfortable breeze while driving.

Interior design

Step into the SANTA FE’s cabin to discover a new level of comfort. Its tech has also taken a bold leap forward and there’s more space than in previous models. You’ll find soft touch materials and premium leather accents throughout. And you can take comfort even further by opting for Hyundai’s first Luxury pack. Discover an exceptional level of quality with precise tailoring and soft-touch materials throughout. One of the most notable features of the upgraded interior is the ‘floating’ centre console which flows elegantly into the leather-covered crash pad. Wrapped in soft touch material and boasting a plethora of high tech features, the new console accentuates the premium feel in the cabin.The interior updates are rounded off by a new, highly customisable 12.3” fully digital display cluster. Effortlessly switch between drive, neutral, park and reverse at the touch of a button, which is handily located on the floating centre console. Located in the centre console, a wireless charging pad (Qi standard) lets you easily charge a compatible Qi-enabled smartphone without the use of cables.

Luxury Pack

The Luxury Pack is an optional set of exclusive features available on the Ultimate Trim only giving SANTA FE Exterior and Interior design another level of prestige look and feel. Nappa leather covered seats with a lozenged quilted design feel extra soft and ever so luxurious. The suede headliner ads extra levels of comfort for a truly spacious yet cozy interior space. Seats are available in a choice of Light grey or Black Nappa leather. Genuine brushed aluminium finish on the centre console is unique to the Luxury Pack. The centre console holds your wireless phone charging pad, cup holders, as well as commands for setting your car and comfort levels to your own preferences. 20” exclusive alloy wheel design ( Diesel only). Body coloured wheel arches are an exclusive feature of Luxury pack.

The SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid provides advanced connectivity, like smartphone mirroring and Bluelink® Connected Car Services, which lets you control your car with your smartphone or your voice. You’ll also find a 10.25” touch screen navigation system with a free five year subscription to Hyundai’s LIVE Services. Enjoy more accurate traffic information, more precise arrival times and better route relocations thanks to the new Hyundai Cloud server.​ Now you can mirror your smartphone on the 10.25” touchscreen via a USB connector. Just connect with Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™. Control your car from your smartphone – or with your voice. Bluelink® delivers seamless connectivity and clever features to make your drive more convenient.​

Slide the second row seats out of the way at the touch of a button for easy access to the third row. It’s a little feature that helps a lot. Image shown for illustrative purposes. The button on the UK specification is on the driver’s side of the car.​

For your peace of mind, the SANTA FE uses ultrasonic sensors to monitor the rear seats. If the system detects movement in any of the rear seats after the driver has left the vehicle, the horn will sound and the lights will flash.​

KRELL’s premium audio system comes standard on all trims and delivers an immersive surround sound experience for everyone on board with 10 high-end speakers and an external amplifier.​

Featuring class-leading luminance for easy visibility, the head-up display on the Ultimate trim helps you stay safe by projecting important information like speed, navigation commands and warnings directly onto the windscreen.​

Located in the centre console across all trims, a wireless charging pad lets you easily charge a compatible smartphone without the use of cables.​

The front seats are available with a three-step ventilation system for a comfortable drive, whatever the weather. Standard on Ultimate trim.​

Performance
New hybrid powertrain for more efficiency and power

With its dynamic pairing of a turbocharged petrol direct injection and powerful battery-powered electric motor, the SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid is taking fuel efficiency to the next level. All without you having to charge a battery or change your driving habits. The hybrid switches seamlessly between the electric motor and conventional engine, sometimes utilising both at the same time. The SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid is built on an entirely new platform designed with hybrids in mind. This allows lots of smart innovations – for example, the battery now sits under the passenger seats, providing a boost in efficiency with no impact on cabin or luggage space.

The SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid’s 66.9 kW electric motor delivers high torque and efficiency while also providing impressive acceleration off the line. The 13.8 kWh high- power battery has superior charge/discharge characteristics, maximising both electric driving and energy storage. A newly developed 6-speed automatic transmission further enhances SANTA FE’s impressive efficiency credentials. Available only on Hybrid.

The SANTA FE is available with a variety of powertrains for both power and efficiency, which are available with different levels of electrification or without.

• 2.2 SmartStream Diesel - The four-cylinder ‘SmartStream’ diesel engine produces 202 PS and 440 Nm torque and is available with two or four-wheel drive. The new engine block consists of aluminum instead of steel, for a weight reduction of 19.5 kg. Many other components have been improved as well, leading to better fuel efficiency. Furthermore, it has been equipped with a new 2,200 bar injection system for improved overall engine performance.
• 1.6 T-GDi turbo hybrid - Delivering a combined output of 230 PS, the hybrid version of the SANTA FE is powered by a dynamic tandem of the new 1.6-litre T-GDi ‘SmartStream’ turbocharged petrol direct injection engine and a 44.2 kW electric motor, which draws its power from a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. It is available with two-wheel or four-wheel drive.
• 1.6 T-GDi Plug-in Hybrid - The plug-in hybrid version, available in early 2021, is powered by the new 1.6-litre T-GDi ‘SmartStream’ turbocharged petrol direct injection engine paired with a 66.9 kW electric motor, which draws its power from a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. This variant will be available with four-wheel drive. The total power output is 265 PS.

The SANTA FE is based on the all-new third-generation Hyundai vehicle platform, which allows for significant improvements in performance, handling, fuel efficiency and safety. MacPherson suspension provides enhanced stability and ride performance, while rear multi-link suspension delivers a more comfortable ride and takes up less space. Experience superior handling and control for a new level of driving confidence. HTRAC™ on 4WD SANTA FE models actively adjusts the driving power distribution to all four wheels to achieve optimal traction in a variety of conditions. In combination with the drive modes, HTRAC™ improves acceleration, stability and fuel efficiency with either performance or economy in mind. This system increases traction on snow, gravel and regular road surfaces while enhancing cornering performance.

Drive Mode Select

You can change the driving dynamics of the SANTA FE to suit your mood. In Comfort mode it offers improved stability with up to 35% of torque distributed to the rear wheels. In slippery conditions, the system automatically distributes power to all four wheels. In Eco mode HTRAC™ provides improved fuel efficiency by sending power to the front wheels only. In slippery conditions, the system automatically distributes power to all four wheels. In Sport mode HTRAC™ delivers improved acceleration with up to 50% of torque distributed to the rear wheels. In slippery conditions, the system automatically distributes power to all four wheels. With Drive Mode Select, you can change the driving dynamics of the SANTA FE to suit your mood. In Smart mode, the system adapts to your driving style and road conditions in real time, automatically switching between Eco, Sport and Comfort to deliver optimal performance.

Drive and terrain mode selector

Fine tune the SANTA FE Hybrid’s driving characteristics to suit the road conditions – or to suit your mood. Sport Mode will enhance the car’s performance with modified throttle response, shift points and steering effort. Eco Mode delivers enhanced fuel efficiency with modified acceleration, shift points and air conditioning performance, while Comfort Mode delivers regular performance with good efficiency.

• Snow Mode - Selecting Snow Mode will give you more control and minimise wheel slip when driving in snowy conditions. It does so by adjusting engine torque, gear shift pattern, traction control and all-wheel drive torque distribution.
• Sand Mode - Sand Mode helps you achieve a smooth take off and controlled performance in soft and high-resistant road conditions by adjusting engine torque, gear shift pattern, traction control and all-wheel drive torque distribution.
• Mud Mode - In Mud Mode, engine torque, gear shift pattern, traction control and all-wheel drive torque distribution are adjusted to suit slippery, high-resistant road conditions.

Charging
Lots of ways to charge​

Thanks to its innovative powertrain technology, charging your SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid can be quick and convenient. Choose from home installation options and the ever-increasing number of public charging stations when you’re out and about. When you’re plugged in at home, you can remotely schedule charging via your smartphone and Bluelink® app during low-demand hours for lower electricity rates.

​Home wall box / AC charging station

Depending on your grid connection at home or the type of public charging station you have access to, you have several possibilities for charging. One of which is the a wall box or an AC charging station.

​ICCB cable for domestic power sockets

You can connect to a regular household power socket using the ICCB-cable (in-cable control box). SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid comes equipped with a 3.3 kW on-board charger, which converts AC power from the wall socket to DC power that charges the battery in the vehicle.

​Charging cable for AC charging stations

You can connect the SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid to public AC charging points by cable. The same cable can also be used to connect to a home wall box.

Programmable charging

The SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid's advanced battery management system gives you complete control over when and how you charge. Pick a time that best fits your schedule and budget, and keep track of remaining charging time.

​Charging time reservation

A few taps is all it takes to save money. Use the scheduled charging function to program start and stop charging times to make the most of off-peak electricity rates and wake up to a fully charged battery.

​Charging limit

Set a Charging Limit (for example 50%) to take advantage of a fast-charging station in the city for the drive home – and then fully charge the battery at home while you’re sleep to take advantage of low electricity rates at night.
