Tucson

New Hyundai Tucson at Marshall Hyundai

With its bold design, stylish interior, and impressive equipment levels, it is no surprise that this is a class-leading SUV.

Exterior design

The smart exterior features the Hyundai signature hexagonal grille in chrome, distinctive lights, and a stylish rear spoiler with integral brake light. The rear skid plate on the SE Nav trim and up adds a rugged dimension to the Tucson.

Interior design

Inside the cabin there is ample space for five, with good legroom in both the front and back. There’s no shortage of space in the boot either, with 513 litres, which can be expanded to a generous 1,503 litres by lowering the rear seats. You have a choice of colours for your seating, including a bold red option. The SE trim and up have heated front and outer rear seats, and on the Premium SE this is upgraded to ventilated front seats, so you can choose refreshing cool air in summer, and turn up the heat in the winter. The dashboard layout is carefully designed to ensure that all the controls are at your fingertips.

Rear parking sensors are fitted on the SE trim and above, and you also get front sensors if you opt for the Premium and Premium SE. A smart parking system is provided on the automatic edition of the Premium SE, making use of ultrasonic sensors to assist with parking. The Premium SE also has a smart tailgate, which detects the key in your pocket or bag and opens automatically when you stand next to it – perfect for when you have your hands full with shopping.

The most economical option is the 1.7-litre CRDi diesel Blue Drive, with CO₂ emissions of 119g/km. If you want to head off the beaten track, opt for one of the four wheel drive editions.

Safety and technology

The Tucson has an impressive range of safety features, including six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, ABS, brake assist and downhill brake control. The autonomous emergency braking system available on Premium editions detects potential hazards in your path and applies braking to avoid a potential collision. The SE Nav trim and up is fitted with an eight-inch touchscreen sat nav with Tom Tom Live services. Euro NCAP has awarded the Tucson a five star safety rating.

Awards

The Tucson was named Best Family Car in 2015.
