Mercedes-Benz continues to perfect its family car offering with the C-Class Saloon, a car that marries reliability with luxury and economy.
Looking at the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon, you get the impression that it has been designed as the last word in luxury family motoring. The wide and solid styling of the new C-Class Saloon simply projects an unmatchable aura of reliability and dependability, from the 17-inch alloy wheels up to the strong roof pillars. There are still flourishes that serve to soften the C-Class Estate, such as the dipped lines in the bodywork at the sides, but overall this is a car that you can trust, and Mercedes-Benz has given it that all important first impression
The interior of the C-Class Saloon has been designed with comfort and style at the forefront of the process. Each of the five seats is well-padded and comes upholstered in the finest Artico man-made leather to offer increased comfort and grip. The C-Class Saloon's controls are also of the highest quality, with well-damped buttons proving satisfying to use whilst a seven-inch colour touchscreen places other functions and information at your fingertips.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon comes with a comprehensive range of petrol, diesel and hybrid engines in all sorts of different sizes and powers. As a general rule, each of the engines offers good economy, but some models are more economical than others. For example there's a fast C300h diesel-electric hybrid that will return over 78mpg, whilst the plug-in hybrid C350e can reach 134.5mpg if driven mostly in its electric mode whilst only producing a tiny 48g/km of CO2.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon also has a five-star crash safety rating from Euro NCAP, so it's no surprise that it comes with a generous amount of safety features as standard. Regardless of which model you select, your C-Class Saloon will feature an intelligent light system which adapts to the outside visibility, a tyre pressure monitor and a reversing camera. That's not all though, as Mercedes-Benz's Attention Assist and Collision Prevention Assist systems are also included. The former will keep you updated as to when you should take a regular rest, whilst the latter will warn you if you get to close to a nearby vehicle.
