Mercedes-Benz brings its stunning new E-Class to the roads as an elegant but fun coupé to suit all tastes.
The latest iteration of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé is a stunningly good-looking car. It encapsulates everything you could want from a sporty coupé in one package, with sensuous lines that sweep back from the bonnet, over the roof and down the gentle dip of its rear end and an angular, exotic frontage. The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé also boasts 17-inch alloy wheels, whilst metallic edging across the windows catches the eye.
The interior of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé is a refined and elegant place to be. This being a Mercedes-Benz, the plastics used in the cabin feel solid and reliable, and the chairs are supportive and plush, whether you are cruising or driving aggressively around a corner. Elsewhere the dashboard has been fitted with a selection of controls that are chunky and well-damped to make them more satisfying to use. There's even an analogue clock built into the dashboard to create an air of stately elegance.
There is a broad selection of both diesel and petrol engines available for the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé, so your choice is likely to be informed by what you hope for it to achieve. If you want a petrol engine, the 1.8-litre E200 engine is turbo charged and will give you 180bhp, passing from 0-60mph in under eight seconds. There's also a turbo charged 3.0-litre petrol on offer. If you prefer diesel then the 2.2-litre engine is the option with the widest appeal, as it has a consumption figure of 50mpg.
Being a Mercedes-Benz, the new E-Class Coupé is an exceptionally safe car. A total of nine airbags has helped it secure a five-star crash rating from Euro NCAP, but that's not all the E-Class Coupé has to offer in terms of safety. For a start it has a lane occupancy warning system should the driver make an ill-advised manoeuvre, and if it senses a potential impact with the car in front it will apply the brakes automatically. If there is a crash, the E-Class can also shift the passengers away using the seatbelts, and pedestrians are protected at speeds up to 30mph as the car will automatically stop before a collision.
