The pricing and specification of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS has been unleashed, fresh from its big reveal at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
Prices begin from £57,510, fully stacked with two diesel engines and one petrol option, with the options set to increase from 2018 onwards.
The entry level 350 d boasts a new 282bhp 2.9-litre six-cylinder engine, with notable CO2 emissions of 148g/km, sprinting from 0-62mph in just 5.7 seconds. Upping the ante is the gutsy 400 d, priced from £60,410 and producing 335bhp and 700Nm of torque; meanwhile, the top-bar petrol variants sits at £57,610, including an athletic 3.0-litre engine which reaches 62mph in a blistering 4.8 seconds.
Nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC four-wheel drive is available across the range, while an enviable standard package allows for all the bells and whistles; a familiar 12.3-inch widescreen instrument panel and infotainment system has extended its reach into the latest model, with the latest finishing touches to complete the package; illuminated air vents, for example, feature ambient lighting which changes its shade in accordance to whether the required temperature is warm or cool.
Standing proud on 19-inch alloy wheels, the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS also shows off a glorious leather interior, as well as a convenient DAB radio, seamless connectivity with mobile devices and smooth, stable Agility Control Suspension.
