Never miss a beat

Marshall Motor Group commit to customer and colleague wellness by providing Defibrillators in all of their sites.

7th August 2017

As the top UK automotive company in the 2017 Great Place to Work® survey, it’s no surprise that Marshall Motor Group are continuing to push the envelope in regard to colleague safety and satisfaction.

In a drive to raise their already high standards, Marshall have announced that Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Machines will be installed at every one of the Group’s 104 franchise dealerships.

Defibrillators are used in the event of sudden cardiac arrest; an abrupt, unexpected loss of heart function, usually resulting from an electrical problem within the heart. With cardiac arrest affecting over 140,000 people in the UK every year, Marshall are taking steps to protect their customers and colleagues by having Defibrillators available continuously on site.

These small, portable devices provide a dose of electrical current to the heart, which will potentially save the life of someone suffering a cardiac arrest; in fact, if a defibrillator and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival chances increase from 6% to 74%. When you bear in mind that 20% of cardiac arrests which occur outside of hospital are in public places, the need for the latest First Aid equipment becomes all the more critical.

Defibrillators are safe and easy to use, making it possible for non-medical personnel to be trained to provide rapid defibrillation for victims of all ages. Delivery and installation of the new Defibrillators will commence from this week, with First Aid Volunteers across the business to receive the latest training in confident use of these machines.

Marshall Motor Group are proud to continue to lead the way in regard to wellness in the workplace, as well as providing a safe environment for customers to enjoy their impeccable on-site services.
