In a show of solidarity with 84-year-old Peter Maddox, whose yellow Vauxhall Corsa was cruelly vandalised earlier in the year, Vauxhall Motors are to re-name the statement shade ‘Maddox Yellow’.
Mr Maddox fell victim to the crime after he was accused of ruining photo opportunities in the ‘chocolate box’ Cotswold village of Bibury, by parking the vehicle outside his own cottage. As the result of a sympathetic Facebook campaign by members of the public, 100 yellow cars from across the country will convoy through Bibury on Saturday the 1st of April, whilst also supporting Mr Maddox’s chosen charity, The Butterfly Garden – a scheme to help disabled people of all ages through therapeutic horticulture.
