With the new Ghibli Diesel, Maserati has introduced an executive saloon that is both powerful and more economical, thanks to its engine.
The new Maserati Ghibli Diesel is an effortlessly beautiful design. That shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone, given Maserati's status as one of the finest Italian manufacturers with an extra-keen eye for elegant styling. The Ghibli Diesel may just be one of its finest achievements. The narrow grille, Trident badge flashing, falls between two unusually upturned headlights, whilst the lines of the bodywork sweep back from the front to draw the eye across the entire length of the car. In order to make even more of an impression, the Ghibli Diesel comes with a choice of alloy wheels between 18 and 21 inches.
Maserati has always been well-known for offering interiors that are impeccably designed for exceptional comfort, using materials that fall at the very top-end of the quality scale. The interior of the Ghibli Diesel is no exception. A treat for the eyes and the touch, the Ghibli Diesel features frameless glass in the doors, as well as exceptionally padded and tactile leather seats. Maserati has also called on the Ermenegildo Zegna fashion house to provide Zegna Mulberry Silk inserts, embellished with a hand-stitched micro-chevron design throughout the car.
The new Maserati Ghibli Diesel is the only vehicle in the range not to come with a petrol engine, but the 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel packs more than enough of a punch to power the Ghibli. The V6 diesel will give you 272bhp, travelling from 0-60mph in less than 6.3 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 155mph. The Ghibli Diesel has a consumption rate of 47.9mpg, and there are also three driving modes to choose from, depending on the weather and road conditions. These include Normal, Sport, and Increased Control and Efficiency (ICE) for cold conditions
As the Maserati Ghibli Diesel comes from one of the most high-end and exclusive Italian manufacturers around, it makes sense for it to come with a large range of safety features and equipment, to ensure the well-being of the driver and passengers in the event of an accident. Seven airbags found in the Ghibli Diesel's front and sides shield against collision, whilst the Lane Departure Warning System and Adaptive Cruise Control work intelligently to help control the car when necessary to prevent incidents before they happen.
