The new Volkswagen Polo has just been unleashed via Facebook Live Stream to thousands of avid viewers; so, what’s new for the sixth generation of Volkswagen’s tenacious supermini?
Firstly, the new Polo is bigger and bolder than ever. 4,053mm in length and 94mm longer on the wheelbase, you can be sure that the latest incarnation will carry you in comfort, as well as having 25% more boot space – an enviable 351 litres, no less.
The new Polo is, as you may expect, bursting with the latest technology. Front Assist, Blind Spot Detection, ACC and LED headlights make the Polo feel more like the Golf class; in addition, this is the first Polo to use digital instruments. Volkswagen’s second-gen Active Info Display will debut in the latest Polo, bringing a whole new world of information to the compact segment.
Aesthetically, the new Polo shows off its beefier spec with a suitably muscular appearance; the front end in particular is packing some significant brawn in comparison to previous releases. For those who like their vehicle to be a little more personal, the new Polo will also feature an array of choices for trim level, including Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, GTI, Beats and lifestyle packages. Not quite enough customisation for your liking? Never fear; there are also 14 body and 13 dashpad colours to choose from. Let your creativity loose!
Under the hood, the new Polo will also make use of natural gas for the very first time, with power outputs ranging from 48 Kw/65 PS to a respectable 147 KW/200 PS. The new TGI natural gas engine will go through the motions at 66 KW/90 PS.
To top off an already attractive package, the new Volkswagen Polo will have truly second-glance pricing. A four-door with Front Assist will set you back a mere 12,975 Euros. Expect the unexpected!
