New BMW G 650 GS

New BMW G 650 GS

With sprightly performance, robust construction and advanced fuel-saving technology, the BMW Motorrad G 650 GS embodies everything that a single-cylinder motorcycle should be. The ride feel on the G 650 GS is thrilling, too - wherever you're going. Whether on the road or over rough terrain - the reliable, tried-and-tested chassis with central spring strut on the swinging fork ensures crisp handling.

The G 650 GS's engine has a capacity of 652cc and outputs a steady 50bhp at 6,500rpm. Maximum torque is 60Nm, ensuring that whether on or off-road there will always be plenty of power available when needed. Fuel consumption is as low as 74mpg when using regular fuel, so running costs are a much lesser consideration than with other bikes of comparable power outputs.

BMW has achieved a new level of comfort with this model, tweaking its reliable chassis system – which features a central spring strut on the swinging fork – and adding an improved level of spring travel at both the front and rear. The upright seating position and optional lowered suspension offer an unrivalled degree of customisation over the feel of the ride, allowing ultimate comfort, whatever your needs.

The design of the G 650 GS is typically Enduro, featuring a high-contrast Aura White/Arroyo Blue colour scheme and wire spoke wheels. Further flourishes such as exhaust embellishers, fork slider tubes and a taut, muscular frame add yet more athletic appeal to what is already a beautiful machine. The optionally available equipment features of the BMW enduro include comfortable hand protectors, aluminium sump guard, a high windshield and practical Vario cases.

The options make the machine a touch safer still: a centre stand makes for improved stability, the heated grips provide a more solid grasp and ABS prevents the wheels from locking.
