MARSHALL SIGN FALLON SHERROCK ‘THE QUEEN OF THE PALACE’ AND JONNY CLAYTON IN NEW DARTS SPONSORSHIP DEAL

Further to Marshall Motor Group’s recent sponsorship of professional darts quartet of World #1 and the PDC World Champion, Gerwyn “Iceman” Price, Simon “The Wizard” Whitlock, Joe “The Rockstar” Cullen and Luke "Cool Hand" Humphries, Marshall are delighted to announce another exciting duo to their sponsorship stable.

Newly signed is, the “Queen of the Palace", Fallon Sherrock and PDC form player, Jonny “The Ferret” Clayton.

Fallon became the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Championship beating Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic in 2020 tournament and has won several professional titles on the BDO Womens Tour and also been runner-up in the World Masters. However, it was her trailblazing triumphs at the PDC World Championship that saw her become an household name.

Marshall’s fifth signing is Jonny Clayton, undoubtedly the most in-form player in world darts. Clayton has enjoyed a sensational start to the year, picking up a maiden individual televised title at the Masters to go with his World Cup win alongside fellow Welshman Gerwyn Price last year. Jonny has reached four of the eight Pro Tour finals so far this year, winning two of them and top of the 2021 Players Championship Order of Merit.

Fallon and Jonny (plus Gerwyn, Simon, Joe and Luke) will carry prominent Marshall branding on their competition shirts exposing the brand to a highly loyal audience which has seen a renaissance in the last 12 months as tournaments were paused due to the pandemic.

Marshall Motor Group’s CEO, Daksh Gupta said: “After her breakthrough performance at the 2020 World Darts Championship, Fallon is an icon of the sport - we are delighted to welcome Fallon to the Marshall partnership stable. Given our brand building strategy across football, cricket, rugby and now darts, it was important to have a gender balance in our partnerships … and Fallon, whose name and popularity transcends the sport, was the perfect choice.”

Daksh Gupta added: “Jonny has made a fantastic start to the 2021 season and his high profile will further increase Marshall’s profile in the sport. We can’t wait to see Jonny in the 2021 Unibet Premier League (5-9 & 19-22 April) live on Sky Sports from the aptly-named Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes. Both Jonny and Gerwyn play on the opening night (5 April).”

As well as the shirt branding, throughout the next 12 months Marshall will be running competitions, social engagement programmes plus personal appearances of players (when possible) plus virtual meet and greets and online game challenges.
