Refined and a joy to drive, the new Maserati GranTurismo is designed with long days on the open road in mind.
The new Maserati GranTurismo is designed for long journeys, but the stylish, chic and effortlessly elegant exterior is designed to turn as many heads in as many cities as possible along the way. Fantastical lines rise and sweep over the swell of the headlights, the low, wide grille sits between angled headlights, and the whole body is supported by 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels that are available in five different designs.
The interior of the new Maserati GranTurismo has been specially designed to be a supportive and high-quality place to count down the miles on journeys. Not only are the front seats electrically controlled, but the contours of the seats and seat backs have been crafted in a manner that increases support to the legs and torso, giving extra grip for high-speed cornering.
As this is a Maserati, the interior of the GranTurismo boasts an abundance of leather. This isn't just any leather though, as the upholstery in the GranTurismo has been provided by a world-leading leather company, Poltrona Frau.
The Maserati GranTurismo is powered by a 4.2-litre V8 petrol engine which provides you with over 400bhp throughout the course of its rev-range. This impressive engine ensures that the new GranTurismo will hit 60mph from a standing start in less than 5.2 seconds, arriving at a top speed of 177mph shortly after. Driving configurations can be altered at the push of a button, with the Sport button in particular adjusting the traction control and throttle response to create a firmer ride.
As the GranTurismo has been designed to clock up a lot of miles in fairly short order, Maserati has taken steps to ensure that its flagship grand tourer can protect the driver and passengers, whatever may happen. For a start there is a full complement of airbags in the front and sides of the GranTurismo, whilst Maserati's innovative Maserati Stability Programme equips the car with both ABS and ESP, along with other features to produce a better, safer, drive.
