The new E-Class Coupe has been revealed, showing off all the technical benefits of a Saloon, alongside next-generation design values.
Opulence and athleticism blend perfectly in the new Coupe’s configuration, with a host of creative features to perfectly express its astute personality. For example, flat LED tail lamps in conjunction with LED MULTIBEAM headlamps actively communicate with the driver when the car is locked or unlocked; the taillight show will say goodbye, while the front headlamps will provide a greeting via a blue optical-fibre show. The E-Class Coupe’s self-expression doesn’t end there; two optionally available high-resolution 12.3-inch displays sit under a single lens, producing an engaging, floating Widescreen Cockpit effect.
The finish of the E-Class Coupe’s interior is glazed with high-grade materials and contemporary hues, with a choice of two new light wood trim packages, finished in either open-pore or high gloss. The ambient lighting in the cockpit is a diverse spectrum of 64 colours, lit by durable, energy-saving LED technology, producing precision characteristics from the inside out.
Under the hood, the E-Class Coupe is powered by a choice of highly efficient petrol or diesel engines, with ECO start/stop and full compliance with Euro 6 emissions standards. A brand new 2.0-litre diesel will be available from launch, which has also been welcomed to the E-Class Saloon’s latest line-up. Showing true sporting ideals, DIRECT CONTROL suspension allows the Coupe to scoop 15 centimetres lower than the Saloon, while being fine-tuned for a smooth ride with an amplitude-dependent dampening system.
For extra stability, the Coupe can also be equipped with multi-chamber air suspension, including all-round roll/pitch/heave equilibrium; it’s all the comfort you could want, alongside all the thrill you could need.
DYNAMIC SELECT can also be added to the E-Class Coupe package, providing five diverse transmission modes; Comfort, ECO, Sport, Sport + and Individual, with Individual allowing the driver to create a custom transmission solution. The personalisation continues into the Coupe’s impressive connectivity options, with COMMAND Online allowing seamless smartphone integration with the car’s infotainment system, via capacitive aerial coupling and wireless charging. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can also be synced with COMMAND Online, while Audio 20 GPS with GARMIN MAP PILOT SYSTEM allows the driver to be fully informed with up-to-the-minute Live Traffic Information.
Perfect for those with busy lives who like to maximise time spent behind the wheel, the E-Class Coupe’s Concierge Service provides personal assistance for such requirements as restaurant bookings and tourist points of interest.
Adding to the E-Class Coupe’s many conveniences, MAGIC VISION CONTROL will make sure that your windscreen stays crystal clear, whatever the weather. Water is provided in a gentle mist as opposed to a sudden surge, while maximum cleaning is attained. In addition, heated wiper blades will prevent the stick of snow and ice and low temperatures.
