The BMW R1200 RT is a touring bike that offers an improved sense of thrill without compromising comfort.
The R1200 RT has effectively combined light handling with comfort. It’s a touring bike with an elegant design, the use of transparent materials conveying the R1200 RT’s lightness and agility.
Your R1200 RT comes with a choice of three colour finishes; Quartz Blue metallic, Ebony metallic and Callisto Grey metallic matt. Whatever the colour, it will complement the bike’s performance, comfort and touring heritage.
The optional equipment for the R1200 RT enables even lighter handling while still offering an increased level of comfort. Choosing BMW Dynamic ESA electronic suspension, means you get a bike that responds within a fraction of a second to changing surfaces. Shift Assistant Pro allows you to shift up and down through the gears without touching the clutch or throttle valve, meaning you can just focus on your driving experience. You can also choose the Dynamic mode as an option, which lets you have maximum fun on any ride.
You can also opt for a central locking system that will lock both cases with one click of the remote control.
The R1200 RT has a new twin-cylinder boxer engine that provides you with 125bhp at 7,750rpm and 125Nm of torque, offering more than enough speed whenever you need it.
Your R1200 RT will still be easy to control and will offer stability on every road, from the city to the country. This is thanks to the highly active electronically controlled suspension system ASC.
Every R1200 RT comes with two standard modes, Rain and Road. You can switch between the two with the simple press of a button at any time as you ride, which will enable the bike to adapt to the weather conditions and road surface you are facing.
The onboard Computer Pro and the familiar heated grips round off the range of basic equipment.
If you opt for the Akrapovič sports silencer, you get the sporty looks and throaty sound of a sports bike, whilst offering a reduction in weight over the standard silencer, making your bike feel more nimble than ever before.
