With five fully-electric vehicles due to be released between 2019 and 2021, premium manufacturer Volvo is demonstrating impressive commitment to its trailblazing electrification strategy, which in turn is setting the bar for the rest of the automotive industry.
The latest report from UN’s Global Impact (the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative) has proceeded to praise Volvo’s EV scheme. Underlining 10 chief executives that are making a particularly dramatic impact on eco-consciousness, the spotlight turned to Håkan Samuelsson, the President and Chief Executive of Volvo Cars. Out of 9,500 representatives, Volvo Cars are one of only 44 companies which act as a Global Compact LEAD member – and only one of two vehicle manufacturers.
Taking electrification truly to heart, Volvo have declared that every new Volvo will have an electric motor from 2019; a bold move to spell the gradual demise of the solo combustion engine.
With other car makers catching the crest of the wave, we’re truly powering ahead towards an all-electric future on our roads.
