For 40 years now, the Ford Fiesta has been the supermini of choice for millions of people as a compact hatchback that’s reliable, practical and engaging to drive.
The bodywork of the Fiesta gives it an impressive stance on the road. Crisp creases and angular shapes combine to provide a contemporary and stylish exterior. It is available as a three- or five-door, and in five different levels of trim.
Base models have generous levels of standard equipment, while Zetec and Zetec S gain more sporty styling accents like unique front fog lights, 15 and 17-inch alloy wheels and LED night signature rear lights. Titanium and range-topping Titanium X models are a premium choice with convenient power-folding door mirrors and a rear parking camera.
From its funky dash design, to its comfortable and supportive seats, the Fiesta encourages you to get in and drive. Boot space is generous, especially for a car of its size, with a luggage capacity of 290 litres with the rear seats up, and a massive 960 litres with them down.
All models come with air conditioning, radio/CD with USB connectivity and electric front windows as standard. Upgrading to Zetec or Zetec S gives you a DAB digital radio, trip computer and climate control (Zetec S only). Titanium and Titanium X models are afforded more premium touches, like partial leather upholstery, heated front seats and added illumination throughout the cabin.
The Fiesta is available with a wide range of engines, from the 1.0-litre 79bhp petrol unit, that produces only 99g/km of Co2 and can return up to 65mpg on a combined cycle, perfect for city driving, all the way up to the 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol that produces a seriously punchy 179bhp and 290nm of torque, while still returning 47mpg combined.
Diesel engines on offer are a 1.5-litre Duratorq unit that produces either 74bhp or 93bhp. When specified with auto stop/start, it can return 88mpg on a combined cycle and emits just 82g/km of CO2. Automatic and manual gearboxes are available.
The Fiesta offers occupants the absolute best in safety and protection. All models come with anti-lock brakes, Hill Start Assist and an Electronic Stability Program, to maintain the best traction possible in all conditions. Front and side airbags are standard, as well as Ford's Intelligent Protection System that combines the electronic driver aids with an ultra-high strength steel safety cage.
