Inspired by the Alaskan city of Kodiak, the ŠKODA Kodiaq is the first SUV launched under the ŠKODA brand and is promising to challenge rivals on both price and performance.
Available to order at your local South London ŠKODA centre today, the Kodiaq is expected to be on the road early next year.
The name originated from one of the largest bears on earth, the Alaskan bears, and Alaska became the focus of a recent ŠKODA marketing campaign, in which they changed the name of the Alaskan city, Kodiak, to include a ‘q’ (Kodiaq).
As standard, the SUV will be a very spacious five-seater, but a version capable of carrying seven will be available as an optional extra.
Although no official specification list of available engines and prices for the new Kodiaq has been released yet, we do know that the new ŠKODA Kodiaq will be based on the VisionS concept car which was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
This will be the first car in what's set to be a major expansion into the SUV and crossover market for Skoda. A new Yeti and smaller crossover-inspired SUVs will follow soon after the Kodiaq launches.
Call your local ŠKODA centre for the latest developments on the new Kodiaq and expected release dates. Further information can be found on the ŠKODA website here: http://www.skoda.co.uk/why-skoda/kodiaq.
