In a reprise of last year’s charity Christmas tree collection, just under £6000 has been raised for Arthur Rank Hospice’s new facility in Shelford Bottom; with £10.5 million set as a target for the new site, the additional funds from the drive have left just £2 million outstanding.
Arthur Rank Hospice provides quality care and services to patients with life-limiting and terminal conditions, ensuring that they and their families can be fully supported with comfort and compassion. The Hospice team, along with 14 local businesses and 58 volunteers, teamed up to collect unwanted Christmas on the 6th and 7th of January; patrons made a donation in order to have their trees taken away and recycled by the group, with six hundred collected in total across Cambridge.
Marshall Motor Group were proud to contribute to the initiative, providing vehicles and drivers to assist with the collections; alongside the outstanding efforts of members of the public to promote and execute the proceedings, the success of the event has called for a repeat in 2017.
