How Honda E-Clutch Works

The Honda E-Clutch transforms the riding experience for all riders, from beginners to seasoned experts. It blends elements of quickshifters, traditional manual clutches, and Honda’s exclusive Dual Clutch Transmission technology into a seamless, innovative system.

During gear changes, the E-Clutch optimizes ‘half-clutch’ operation, fuel injection cut, and ignition control to eliminate shift shock, ensuring an ultra-smooth ride. Clutch control is managed by an actuator unit—similar to those in Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission—housed within the right-hand engine cover. All you need to do is control the throttle and shift using the pedal.

If you ever want manual control, simply engage the clutch lever as usual, and after a few seconds, the E-Clutch reactivates. For complete flexibility, you can also turn it off entirely via the TFT screen for a fully manual experience.
