The sleek, flowing lines of the HR-V strike a perfect balance between rugged off-roader and lithe performance car, with rear door handles hidden in the pillars and a sweeping window line. The HR-V sits on smart alloy wheels, with angular automatic headlights surrounding a gloss black grille, with air intakes above and below.
Just like the original HR-V of the 1990s, it’s engineered to handle with the excitement of a sporty hatchback. Precise steering and a compact footprint make it a brilliant package, servicing up the same interior space as large cars while being easier to park in urban spaces.
A practical interior
The smart, simple dashboard is easy to navigate, with a comfortable driving position that can be tailored by moving both the seat and steering wheel.
The cabin is spacious and practical, full of thoughtful touches and storage cubbies. The rear Magic Seats split and fold totally flat to expand the boot space, and you can flip up the rear seat bases, cinema-style, so you can store narrow, tall items like bicycles while leaving the boot free for luggage.
Power and performance
Whether you prefer to drive diesel or petrol, the HR-V has an option that works.
Plump for petrol and enjoy the 1.5-litre unit, with 129bhp mated to either a manual or CVT gearbox. Go diesel and there’s a 1.6-litre unit boasting 118bhp. Choose the diesel to save even more on running costs, with low CO2 emissions reducing Benefit in Kind and road tax bills.
Clever tech
Every HR-V comes generously equipped with the luxurious equipment you crave. Cruise control and climate control, a DAB digital radio, Bluetooth technology, USB and AUX connectivity are all included in every trim.
The SE trim and above come with a seven-inch touchscreen system, with optional satellite navigation to complete every journey. Top-spec EX trim includes heated leather seats, a rear parking camera, plus keyless entry and start too.
