Tow far, so good: Land Rover demonstrate the power of the Discovery by pulling a train across the Outback.​

A horsebox, a caravan, your yacht for the weekend… The Land Rover Discovery certainly isn’t scared of a little heavy haulage. Even the keenest devotee of this ever-ready SUV, however, might be a little surprised to hear of its latest escapade.

Marking the launch of a host of technology upgrades, the Land Rover Discover towed a 100m-long road train, weighing a massive 110 tonnes, across 16km of the Lasseter Highway in Australia’s Northern Territory.

Showcasing the immense capability of Advanced Tow Assist, complicated reversing manoeuvres are made easy. In addition, the updated Discovery is available with a 12.3inch Interactive Driver Display TFT instrument cluster, Air Cabin Ionisation and a muscular 300PS Ingenium petrol engine.
