Audi's premier mid-sized SUV returns to the nation’s roads with the latest Q5, a new iteration that manages to look more distinguished and feel sportier than ever before.
The new Audi Q5 is still the biggest of the small SUVs that the German manufacturer offers, but even though it offers seating for five, rather than seven adults like the next model up, it's still a substantial vehicle. The chrome-edged grille is the highlight of a broad, sturdy front that immediately gives an indication of the Q5's utility vehicle pedigree. Each of the Q5's three trim package options comes with different alloy wheels, from the SE's 18-inch 'five-twin-spoke dynamic' design to the S Line's 19-inch 'five-twin-spoke star' design.
The luxurious interior and extremely well-appointed cabin is fast becoming the trademark that Audi is known for, so it's no surprise that the Q5 is also a high-quality place to be. The buttons and controls are all substantial, whilst the surfaces easily balance between being soft to the touch and of an obviously lasting quality. There's up to 1,550-litres worth of boot space to fit a large amount of shopping in and the seats come in twin leather as standard.
All three trim variations of the new Audi Q5 come with a choice of two engines; one petrol and one diesel. The 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine offers 40.9mpg and emits 157g/km of CO2, whilst the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine will get your further in a more economical style, with a range of 56.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 132g/km.
Regardless of which engine type you choose for your new Audi Q5 you are guaranteed exceptional handling in all conditions and across all surfaces, as Audi's pioneering quattro four-wheel drive system comes as standard.
An SUV of any size is designed with the safety of the driver, passenger and other road users as a priority, and the new Audi Q5 is no exception. The Q5 boasts a huge amount of safety features, most of which come with the standard edition of the car. These include a speed-limited cruise control system, Audi's Parking System Plus, sensors to detect approaching traffic and pedestrians, six airbags and Electronic Stabilisation Control amongst others things.
The Q5 also has the maximum five-star crash rating from the safety experts at Euro NCAP, meaning you and your loved ones are protected in the event of a collision.
