Honda are preparing to lift the lid on their new CR-V Hybird at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, sparking a fresh interest in electric drivetrain technology within the brand’s cornerstone SUV.
For Europe, this will be the first juxtaposition of Honda electric technology within an SUV body; Intelligent Multi Mode Drive (i-MMD) is a hybrid system which encompasses a gallant 2.0 litre i-VTEC petrol engine alongside two smooth electric motors, creating a powerful, yet controlled, forward thrust.
Available with a choice of two powertrains, a 1.5 litre VTEC TURBO petrol engine will also be on the market, with more details set to follow when the production vehicle is unleashed in early 2018.
