Customer Understanding & Websites
To help us manage our customer experience and expectations, what helps is accurate scheme information for our Honda sales teams and for customers viewing Manufacturer and Retailer websites. We’re currently seeing outdated and incorrect information about the Motability Scheme being shared online. This is confusing to customers and unhelpful for your Sales Executives who are having to correct and re-educate customers. A contributing factor is the rise of AI-generated search results. Therefore, it’s increasingly important that all references to the Scheme are accurate and consistent, so customers receive the correct information. This is particularly important in relation to the announced Scheme changes. In support, please can I ask that you review your own website content which I’ve summarised below. All inclusive package: The Motability scheme is an all-inclusive package. Every three year lease includes: - Insurance for up to three drivers. - Servicing and maintenance. - Full breakdown cover. - Tyre repair and replacement. - A home charge point and standard installation when you choose an electric vehicle on the Motability scheme, or access to the bp pulse network. Following UK Government tax changes, updates are being introduced to ensure the scheme remains sustainable longer term. From the 1st of July 2026, the lease will include: - Mileage allowance: 30,000 miles over a three year lease. - Tyre replacement: up to six tyres during a three-year lease (including up to four due to damage) - EU breakdown: customers will need to pay an admin fee for a VE103 certificate and inform the RAC when travelling outside the UK. Should you require further information on these changes, please contact: dealermarketing@mo.co.uk
