IONIQ Electric Introducing the IONIQ Electric Starting From

IONIQ Electric

IONIQ Electric from £30,550^ at Marshall Hyundai in Ashford, Canterbury, Gatwick, Gloucester, Hereford, Maidstone & Worcester.

Packed with innovative features and a choice of driving modes, the IONIQ Electric has everything the IONIQ Hybrid offers, along with a zero-emission driving experience.

Exterior design

The sleek, attractive coupé-style silhouette of the IONIQ is designed with aesthetics and efficiency in mind. Without the need to cool a petrol engine, the solid front grille has been designed with distinctive chevrons and active air flaps which further optimise the aerodynamics. Together with the gentle slope of the roofline, which merges seamlessly into the rear spoiler, the IONIQ Electric offers an aerodynamic profile with maximum efficiency and class-leading 0.24 coefficient of drag. Because the IONIQ Electric doesn’t need to cool a petrol engine, the solid front grille has been designed with distinctive chevrons and active air flaps which further optimise the aerodynamics. The dynamic curved daytime running lights also define the subtle intakes that feed the active airflow, reducing turbulence around the front wheels. The design purity of IONIQ is maintained from front to rear. The gentle slope of the roofline merges seamlessly into the rear spoiler. The result is a shape that is both sporty and aerodynamically efficient. Overall energy efficiency is enhanced by 16” alloy wheels and ultra-low rolling resistance tyres. In addition, bumper vents guide airflow into the front wheel arch, creating an ‘air curtain’ that guides airflow along the rest of the car’s body. Conveniently located behind the single flap on the left rear flank are both the standard type 2 charge port, and the quick charge port (CCS) which can charge up to 80% in only 30 minutes.* The harmonious combination of rear spoiler, lower glass area, combination lamps, contrasting bumper insert and signature blue colour accent confirms the complete integrity of the IONIQ Electric's design. Like the headlights, bright LED rear lights use less energy and reinforce the car’s design integrity.

* Charging times for the high voltage battery may vary as it is dependent on the condition of the high voltage battery, charger specifications and ambient temperature.

Interior design

Simple, clean, sleek, light and pure - the interior of the IONIQ has been designed to be effortlessly elegant, efficiently clutter-free and logically forward-thinking. Standard heated steering wheel and front seats provide warmth in winter while dual zone climate control offers a break from hot summers. Premium SE models also feature ventilated front seats for added relief. The IONIQ Electric provides optimum comfort for driver and passengers whatever the conditions or length of journey. The split screen display can provide driving information, weather and entertainment alongside satellite navigation. The reversing camera can also be displayed during driving to give optimal visibility from the rear. The nerve centre of IONIQ is accessed via the 10.25” wide touch screen with Navigation and Bluelink. Connectivity is provided by Apple CarPlayTM, AndroidTM Auto. Two devices can be simultaneously connected via Bluetooth. Voice recognition can also read and send SMS messages. The high resolution 7 inch TFT supervision cluster displays key driving and energy flow information and features different colour schemes according to driving mode. Conveniently located within the centre control console are controls for forward, neutral and reverse; Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes; and operation of the electric parking brake. Compatible smartphones can be charged wirelessly via the integrated charge pad.

The powerfully responsive, fully electric 136PS powertrain combines the high power density of a compact, lightweight, rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery with a high-voltage electric motor and high-efficiency reduction gear. This combination offers excitement and instant torque for reassuring acceleration, keeping you safe when overtaking and pulling out of junctions. With maximum regenerative braking, the IONIQ Electric can come to a complete standstill, meaning that the only pedal needed to drive is the accelerator, providing maximum comfort and control of the driving experience. The IONIQ Electric comes with a choice of three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. The Eco mode optimises the performance of the IONIQ by setting the controls to the most efficient balance; the Normal mode harmonises responsiveness and efficiency; and Sport mode gives a significant boost to acceleration by increasing torque from 265Nm to 295Nm. Driving Electric - rewarding at every level.

The IONIQ Electric offers anxiety free true zero-emission electric driving with virtually no compromise. The large-capacity battery offers a range up to 194 miles, and can be recharged to 80% in as little as 57 minutes. IONIQ Electric combines the high power density of a compact, lightweight, rechargeable Lithium-Ion Polymer battery with a high-power electric motor and high-efficiency reduction gear. The high-power electric motor develops 120 PS and a maximum torque of 295 Nm. The integrated heating system warms the high-voltage battery to maximise both charging performance and driving range in low-temperature conditions. The increased power density of the powerful battery delivers more performance and greater driving range. The battery is located low in the chassis for better handling characteristics. Shift by wire Intelligently groups buttons on the centre console, to simplify electronic control of major driving functions. When decelerating the electric motor operates as a generator and regenerates kinetic energy into electric energy which will be stored in the battery.

IONIQ Electric can be charged in a variety of ways, at home or on the go. So you can take every opportunity to enjoy electric driving. You can also schedule your charging based on desired departure time and also take advantage of lower cost night time electricity rates. In order to optimise the performance of the IONIQ Electric we strongly recommend that owners have a dedicated charging solution at home. This can provide a 100% charge in 6 hours 5 minutes. In the UK, POD Point is Hyundai’s preferred partner for domestic charge points and they help customers securing £350 (including VAT) of government support towards their purchase and installation of their Smart Wallbox. IONIQ Electric is compatible with most fixed public AC charging stations. Charging time is the same as the standard charging time – 6 hours 5 minutes. Using a DC power source is the fastest way to charge your IONIQ Electric. 80% Charging time is approximately 57 minutes on a 50 kW DC charger. IONIQ Electric is delivered with an In-Cable Control Box (ICCB) Emergency 3 Pin Connector that can be used when travelling to places with no other dedicated charging solutions. Charging time is about 19 hours.

* Charging times for the high voltage battery may vary as it is dependent on the condition of the high voltage battery, charger specifications and ambient temperature.

Every IONIQ Electric is equipped with our advanced navigation system which includes the category ‘Charging Station’ in its Point Of Interest (POI) menu. Selecting ‘Charging Station’ will identify your nearest public charging stations and guide you to the location of your preferred station. The IONIQ Electric navigation system also provides guidance to the most convenient charging stations along your preferred route.
