The good-looking i20 provides rear-row passengers with easy access, thanks to a five-door body style that features extra-wide openings. The vehicle’s interior is solidly built and roomy, with more than enough head and legroom to accommodate four full-size adults. The i20 provides the driver with adjustable seating – and a good view of the road ahead. There are plenty of useful cubby spaces throughout the cabin, and a 326-litre boot which can be expanded to 1,042 litres when split-folding rear seats are flipped.
Many i20 variants are installed with a 1.2-litre 75bhp petrol engine, which manages up to 55.4mpg and produces a 119g/km CO2 emission figure. For even greater fuel efficiency, look for models that are fitted with a 1.0-litre 100bhp petrol unit, which returns as much as 65.7mpg, while producing emissions as low as 99g/km.
All models come with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), among a range of standard driver aids. ESC maximises traction on tricky surfaces in order to prevent skidding, while ESS automatically applies braking pressure to help prevent collisions, and activates hazard warning lights as a consequence.
