Taking place in sunny Orlando, the Invictus Games are off to a flying start.
Committed to using sport as a crutch for wounded, injured and sick servicepeople, the Games hope to inspire and encourage support, recovery and rehabilitation. Tailored to suit the skill set of ex-military personnel, teams from 11 nations are taking part in a timed trial, using extensive driving and navigation skills; all while behind the wheel of a Jaguar XE and Land Rover Discovery Sport.
As the founder of the Invictus Games, Prince Harry tried his hand at the trial himself, before proudly awarding the first gold medal to Robert Philippe and M. Rebujent Haller of Team France.
Jaguar Land Rover are the honoured supporting partner of the event, running alongside their own allegiance with service members; the new CALIBRE Partnership will see JLR fund the training and hire of 180 servicepeople across North American retailers this year. The group intend to be a career destination for service leavers, delivering a five-fold increase in the recruitment of retired military personnel over the next four years.
