Intelligent design informs every element of the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake, which arrives in September 2019. Blending elegant, functional forms with intuitive technologies, the forthcoming CLA Shooting Brake gives comfort a new meaning — and a wholly distinctive look.
The CLA Shooting Brake has always been characterised by its unmistakeable silhouette, borrowing design elements from the CLA Coupé and sculpting them into practical proportions. More distinguished than ever before, the new CLA Shooting Brake has been redesigned to be even longer, wider and lower, allowing for greater practicality, a lower centre of gravity and a more striking on-road presence. From the athletic, tilted “shark nose” front to the elongated rear design, the new CLA Shooting Brake impresses from every angle. However, its exterior architecture isn’t just about looks: with a cd value of 0.26, the new CLA Shooting Brake has been aerodynamically optimised to help reduce wind noise, resistance and fuel consumption.
Inside, the new CLA Shooting Brake is defined by a slick aesthetic and spacious dimensions. With greater elbow room and a significantly wider boot opening than its predecessor, expanding from 635mm to a generous 871mm, the new CLA Shooting Brake invites adventure like never before. It also offers a range of features designed for enhanced comfort, such as the ENERGIZING Comfort Control system, which cleverly connects various aspects of the car — including lighting, climate control, seat heating and massaging — to complement your mood and driving circumstances.
At once comfortable and intelligent, the new CLA Shooting Brake comes equipped with pioneering technologies like MBUX, the innovative new infotainment system developed by Mercedes-Benz. Featuring high-definition widescreen displays, intuitive voice control that recognises natural voice commands, and clever functions like augmented reality navigation, MBUX is quickly proving itself as the ultimate companion for any journey.
As with every Mercedes-Benz, safety is a key focus in the new CLA Shooting Brake, which offers a whole host of the latest systems as seen in the S-Class. Highlights include Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, which helps you to maintain a safe distance from what’s ahead, while systems like Active Lane Change Assist and Active Steer Assist can help with overtaking and crossing lanes of traffic.
The new CLA Shooting Brake is powered by a top-of-the-range four-cylinder petrol engine and a 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission, with more engine, transmission and drivetrain variants to choose from upon the launch in September.
