Mercedes-Benz brings its typical high standards and unbeatable levels of quality to the MPV market with the V-Class, a minivan with a difference.
The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class is a big car, but then it has to be to comfortably seat seven people. This is a vehicle that knows its niche and how to fill it, proven by the fact it comes with picnic tables. From the outside the V-Class is understated, as you would expect from a minivan, although the gently curving lines and the slight arc of the bonnet and headlights, not to mention the bladed grille and badge combo, mark this out as unmistakeably Mercedes-Benz.
Unsurprisingly for a MPV, the interior of the V-Class is where it really shines. The driver and front passenger seats come with a wide range of adjustable positions, whilst the middle row of seats come with reclining backrests, armrests and picnic tables to make long journeys a breeze. There is also plenty of legroom for all, even in the third-row seats in the rear. The SE trim features a seven-inch infotainment screen as standard for the driver to operate, but there is the option of upgrading to the Mercedes-Benz Comand Online system which has a higher resolution and a bigger screen.
The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class comes with several engine choices. The first is a 2.1-litre diesel that is available in two different power outputs. Whichever engine you choose the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that comes with the V-Class will let you change gears smoothly and with ease.
Mercedes-Benz has a well-earned reputation for crafting reliable and safe vehicles across its entire range, so it’s no surprise that the V-Class follows this trend and has earned a five-star crash safety rating from Euro NCAP. The V-Class is a dependable car that, thanks to innovative safety features, will protect all passengers in the event of an accident and can even help the driver prevent an incident occurring in the first place. As well as a full complement of airbags, features such as ATTENTION ASSIST, blind-spot assist and Active Park Assist, which uses a reversing camera mounted in the boot lid, come as standard.
