The new Mercedes-Benz E 350 e Saloon is now eligible for the Government Plug-in Car Grant; great news for those who enjoy the frugal fuel economy of hybrid vehicles, without compromising on style, comfort or profound luxury.
Both the SE and AMG Line will qualify for the Category 2 Grant, which entitles one to a significant discount of £2,500. Boasting a 2.0-turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, the E 350 e produces a gutsy 282bhp, as well as 550Nm of torque; racing from 0-62mph in just 6.2 seconds, you won’t be left behind.
The E 350 e has a sizeable range of 21 miles when using purely electric power, with CO2 emissions riding low at 49g/km. Remaining fiercely loyal to efficiency, the saloon also implements the finest innovations to stay ahead of the environmental curve. Four driving modes allow for various methods of battery preservation; Hybrid mode manages both engines while recovering energy from the brakes to re-charge the power pack and increase range. Meanwhile, E-Save conserves energy from the battery until it’s required, while E-Mode puts electric driving at the fore. In addition, an E-Charge setting allows the petrol engine to re-charge the battery. It’s a seriously smart way to reduce your carbon footprint.
Further perks to owning a Mercedes-Benz E 350 e include congestion charge exemption and reduced road tax, as well as enviable on-board infotainment technology. Why not arrange a test drive and see for yourself?
