Chargemaster, the UK’s largest provider of EV charging services, have joined forces with Mercedes-Benz to offer customers simple solutions to their plug-in vehicle needs.
Electric motoring is edging closer to the fore, with Mercedes-Benz already offering four electric hybrid models, soon to be joined by EQ; a brand which will entirely revolve around plug-in power. In order to make ownership of an electric vehicle more appealing to the masses, the simplicity of re-charging is to be enhanced by the Chargemaster partnership, which will provide Homecharge units in either a tethered or non-tethered format, alongside an option of 3.6 or 7Kw. The units are to be installed by specialist Chargemaster engineers who aim to fulfil customer orders within 2 weeks, so the convenience of home charging can be as quick and efficient to achieve as the car purchase itself.
Prices start at £279 for a 3.6kW Homecharge unit, rising to £354 for the 7.0 kW version, which offers treble the charging speed of a regular 13A socket. In order to support customers who are choosing to invest in sustainable EV technology, a £500 grant from OLEV is also available, which Chargemaster will apply on their behalf.
On top of the benefits of charge-at-home practicality, Mercedes-Benz and smart customers will also have six months of free access to Chargemaster’s “Polar Network”, the UK’s largest network of public charging points; over 5,000 locations are currently available nationwide, making charging on-the-go a completely limitless way to travel.
