There are several ways to charge your Nissan LEAF. At home, most owners opt for Type 2 charging. On the go? A wide network of public charging stations also offer Type 2, while an increasing number offer 50 kW CHAdeMO capability.
There are two charging cables you can use to charge your LEAF at home or on the road. The optional home charging EVSE cable can be plugged into a 220V designated socket for overnight charging. The 240V Type2 cable can be plugged into a dedicated AC Charger at home, at work or on the road.
Plug into a regular electrical outlet
The Nissan LEAF can be charged by a EVSE charging cable, available as a costed option. Just plug it directly into a regular, designated wall socket and start charging!

Nissan LEAF is compatible with CHAdeMO DC charging network. To date there are more than 1300 compatible rapid chargers across the country. The future is truly electric and the network is continuously expanding. Plug your Nissan LEAF into a CHAdeMO rapid charger and get from 20% to 80% charge in around 60 minutes. The Nissan LEAF is designed to support the majority of journeys in daily life and is equipped with charging safeguards to protect the battery during repeated rapid charging sessions in a short period of time. The time taken for successive rapid charging can take longer if the battery temperature activates the battery safeguarding technology.
