BENEFITS

Home charging offer

To help make the switch to electric easier, we offer an ownership package with a 7kW wall box.

The Smart Solo 7kW charger, provided by Pod Point, offers fast and reliable home charging. It comes with a free 5-year warranty.

This will allow you to plug in your electric vehicle overnight and wake up the next day powered up and ready to start your day.

Government grants for electric drivers

With the government's plan to start phasing out petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030, they have put together a package of grants for electric drivers.

For starters, you could get 35% of purchase price, up to £2,500 off an 100% electric car. For electric vans, it's 35% of purchase price up to £3,000 for small vans and 35% of purchase price up to £6,000 for large vans. And your Vauxhall store will do all the grant paperwork for you.

Electric savings

Driving an electric car is much cheaper to run than a petrol or diesel engine. At 3p per mile for the Corsa Electric vs the Corsa petrol engine at 10p per mile, driving an electric car will save you money every time you travel*

With the increasing growth of electrical vehicles, a number of energy providers have started to offer Electric Driver tariffs, which gives you cheaper off-peak electricity overnight, when most of us will charge our vehicles. So the cost of running an electric vehicle is now even less. We have worked with British Gas to provide such an offer with our Corsa Electric, click here to find out more.

Lower local charges

Low or zero emission electric vehicles pay less in Clean Air Zones in the UK and the Ultra Low Emission Zone in London.

Cities such as Bath or Birmingham have introduced ‘Clean Air Zone’s meaning if you’re driving an Electric or Hybrid vehicle in these areas, you’ll pay less. Find out more about Clean Air Zones.

Many local councils also offer electric drivers free parking, reduced Residents’ Parking permits, access to bus lanes and even free electricity. Check with your local council to find out more.

Tax savings

Choose a low-emission vehicle and you’ll save on tax. All 100% electric cars (costing under £40,000) pay £0 car tax, while plug-in hybrids get a £10 discount. There are other tax savings, too.

Recharge a plug-in vehicle at home and you’ll only pay 5% VAT on your electricity. Compare that to 20% on road fuels. And company car drivers also get a break. The ‘Benefit in Kind’ (BiK) rate for fully electric vehicles is 1% for 2021/22.

Help for electric workplaces

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) offers help to eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations. They could receive up to £350 per socket towards the cost of installing electric charge points. To qualify, there must be dedicated off-street parking for staff.

In New Grandland Plug-in Hybrid you can drive up to 35 miles2 in pure electric mode. Or, select hybrid mode and the car will auto-select the most efficient driving more.

WHAT FACTORS INFLUENCE RANGE?

Driving Style

The two factors that affect your range the most are your speed and your acceleration. To become an electric pro, follow this advice and get some serious range.

What you carry

The more weight you add to your journey, the more charge you’ll use.

Your tyre pressure

Making sure your tyres are at the right pressure will really help you go far. Flatter tyres burn up energy and decrease the distance you can cover with a full charge.

Speed

Speed is the most impactful factor on range.

Thermal comfort & heating

Range difference due to heating can vary up to 35% between seasons, as the energy is directly taken from the battery. Pre-conditioning your electric vehicle while charging is a great way to preserve your range and travel in comfort.
