We already know our business is full of heroes – you only have to look at some of the colleague #marshallmoments shared on social media or in our colleague magazine.

In situations like this it tends to bring the hero out in us all and in some way, we are all capable of being somebody’s hero. We are already starting to see Marshall Heroes popping up around the country which is really heart-warming.

Here are just a few examples:

> Volunteering for the NHS
> Helping vulnerable neighbours
> Going the extra mile for a key worker customer
> Doing exercise sessions in the street for neighbours
> Colleagues helping each other out in their hour of need
> A sales team sending a sweetie hamper in to their service colleagues at work to say thanks
> Sending WhatsApp messages to say hi
> Phoning someone who lives on their own

We really want to make sure we share as many of these warm fuzzy moments as we can as a reminder of what an incredible team we are and that even the smallest of good deeds go a long way.

If you or another colleague has done something special, no matter how small you think it may be, then let’s share the feel-good factor. Send in a pic and a note about the heroic deed to

Remember being a hero doesn’t require wearing a cape or your pants on the outside of your trousers but you can if you want!

Together, as One Company, we are here to support our customers, our community and our nation when needed most.

During lockdown, the Marshall businesses have all been working tirelessly to help make a difference, so we wanted to share with you a short video to show some of the amazing work that has been happening in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are proud to be Marshall.

Robert Dickens, Transaction Manager at Marshall SEAT Cambridge has now launched his special edition T-Shirt to raise money for the NHS. He is donating 100% of the net profit to the NHS Charities Trust.

A shout out to Colin Donno, Service Manager at Volkswagen St Albans who is fundraising for East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust Charitable Fund. Colin is close to finishing a picture that depicts ‘lockdown’ and celebrates some of our ‘key workers’. Each person who donates will go into a draw to win the finished picture and 100% of the donations will go to the NHS Trust.

A shout out for Matthew Fishburn, New Car Sales Manager at Marshall Volkswagen Harlow.

On Sunday Matt was due to complete the Edinburgh Half Marathon but due to Covid-19 it was postponed. So on Sunday he did it anyway – virtually - raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, as his Dad Martin has been diagnosed with having very early stages of this terrible disease.

#MarshallAtWork One of Marshall Peugeot Peterborough’s customers who is a keyworker has just dropped in these Celebration treats for the workshop team who quickly got her mobile again after a tyre failure.

What a very kind thought and one was that very much appreciated by the team. We think Cadbury’s Heroes would have been more appropriate!

#MarshallAtHome Well done to the #SafeAtHome Marshall Land Rover Bedford’s Transaction Manager, Gary Page and Sales Executive, Jinal Shah, who took part in a Virtual Half Marathon at the weekend raising money for Children with Cancer UK. Gary / Jinal - what a great achievement – and fantastic cause too!

#MarshallAtHome Bravo to Monique Almond, Business Manager at Marshall Honda Peterborough who has spent a day delivering hampers to local care homes as a little thank you for all the care workers are doing at the moment. This included the home that looked after her nan and one of the care workers who helped look after her grandma.

What a lovely thing to do Monique – we’re sure they must have been super chuffed with such a kind gesture.

#MarshallAtHome Karen Plane, Business Manager at Marshall Vauxhall Ipswich is #SafeAtHome and with the help of YouTube has decided to teach herself to crochet and make Face Mask Adapters.

The face masks that the NHS & care workers have to wear for up to 12 hours a day cause the ears to go red raw and bleed. So far. Karen has crocheted and donated over 50 of theses little gems and every single one has been appreciated. Top job Karen – you’re an inspiration!

#MarshallAtHome Diana Petchell (Regional Administration Manager) is no stranger to giving back to her local community, in fact she won a MAVTA in recognition of the work she does both for the Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge and Macmillan Cancer Support. Whilst at home Diana has taken on the role of ‘befriender’ for the Arthur Rank Hospice which involves her being a kind and listening ear on the phone to provide a direct response to anyone who needs the support of the hospice, whatever the reason.

Diana has worked for Marshall for nearly 38 years and on top of her day job gives up endless amounts of her personal time to help these causes that mean so much to her.

Keep up the good work Diana. We're all very proud of you.

#MarshallAtHome Marisa Lagerman, Dealership Host at Marshall Honda Peterborough, 4 year old daughter Everleigh, lost her first tooth and has decided to do something fantastic with the money the tooth fairy left her under her pillow.

She rang around her Grandparents and Uncle and roped them in to give her some more money (and Mum of course!). With this money she managed to get enough to fill a supermarket trolley to donate to their local food bank. How brilliant is that?! Well done Everleigh - you may be just 4 - but already you're an inspiration.

#MarshallAtWork Lovely feedback for Marshall Honda York from the Father of a NHS worker. Well done Andy!

#MarshallAtHome The 2.6 Challenge took place on Sunday 26th April (the date the London Marathon was supposed to be held). The Challenge is anything you can do at home linked to 2.6 - flipping pancakes 26 times, up and down the stairs 26 times, walking 2.6 km in the garden etc., Simon Kydd (Service Advisor at Marshall Ford Bury St Edmunds) and his family are #SafeAtHome and wanted to do their bit. They decided to get on their exercise bike and cover the 26 miles of the marathon x 2.6 = 67 miles!

Simon, his wife Jo and children Emilia and George initially set a target of £260 raising money for a local charity ‘The Friends of West Suffolk Hospital’. Well done Simon – a lovely gesture! Especially as at the time of writing they’ve already raised over £700!

And not to be beaten by COVID completely they still went to the church (just outside) in their best clothes (not just lounge wear that they have been in for the last 8 weeks!) and had a mini photoshoot! They can’t wait to do the real thing when circumstances permit in front of all their family and friends.
