Hot design

A hatchback that is hot in every sense of the word, the new Audi S3 Sportback shares the same striking hexagonal grille and stylishly narrowed headlights as the rest of the range.

As this is an S3 there are some exceptionally pleasing exclusive design elements, such as 18-inch alloy wheels (with a design that varies depending which trim option you select) and aluminium window trims. If you plump for the Black Edition trim however, you will also receive privacy glass and additional black decals.

Refined interior

The new Audi S3 Sportback's interior continues Audi's trend of kitting out cars with unbeatably high-quality materials and controls. This is thanks to both the easy-to-use displays and controls, as well as excellent material choices that make running your hand around the car a joy. For the S3, the standard front seats have been replaced with leather sport seats, and whilst the cabin is well-lit, an additional LED interior lighting pack is also available and generally increases the ambience inside the car.

Engine and handling

As with all of Audi's S range of vehicles, the new Audi S3 Sportback comes fitted with the same engine no matter whether you choose the standard or Black Edition trim. There is a good reason however, and that is because the 2.0-litre petrol engine is a perfect match for the car, especially as it boasts Audi's world-beating four-wheel drive system, quattro, to give it superb handling.

A turbo fuel stratified injection (TFSI) engine, the 2.0-litre mixes turbo charging with direct petrol injection for spectacular acceleration, reaching 0-60mph in under five seconds.

Technology and safety

Both the S3 Sportback and the other cars in Audi's range come with a five-star crash rating from Euro NCAP, but the S3 Sportback is full of safety features, including rear parking sensors, cruise control, a six-airbag system that includes knee-level protection for the driver and Electronic Stabilisation Control.

The S3 Sportback also has plenty of audio features to keep everyone entertained throughout the journey, including Bluetooth connectivity and music streaming, DAB digital radio and even the option to upgrade to a Bang & Olufsen Sound System with the Black Edition trim.
