Discreet design

Refined interior

Taking a seat in the new Audi S3, the first thing you are likely to notice is how minimalist the controls and dashboard instruments are. Instead of cluttering the interior with too many knobs and switches, the new Audi S3 instead relies on an infotainment screen that is controlled with a simple dial.The materials that make up the cabin are uniformly excellent, with matt-brushed aluminium inlays and fine Nappa leather seats both pleasing to the eye and to the touch.

Engine performance

Both the standard and Black Edition trim options available with the new Audi S3 come with the same engine, so you don't have to spend any time deliberating the pros and cons of different options. The S3's 2.0-litre TFSI engine is both superb and super-fast however, with 306bhp and 399Nm of torque allowing it to accelerate from 0-60mph in under five seconds. Add Audi's quattro all-wheel drive into the mix and the S3 handles effortlessly well, making any journey a joy to undertake.

Technology

The new Audi S3 comes with a range of entertainment options as standard, including Bluetooth connectivity, DAB digital radio, smartphone connectivity, CD player and SD card support, but to get the most out of it you should choose to upgrade the dashboard to the Audi Virtual Pilot. Virtual Pilot swaps the driver's instrument display for a generous multimedia screen that also gives you important read outs on the S3's status.

As far as safety is concerned, the S3 is kitted out with Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) which includes ABS, ASR and EDL, cruise control, an ISOFIX child seat mounting system and six airbags.
