Subtle to look at as it passes, quiet to drive, the new Audi S6 Saloon nevertheless packs an exceptionally powerful punch.
With the standard hexagonal Audi grille and chic narrowed headlights, the new Audi S6 Saloon makes an impression straight away. It is unquestionably elegant, with smooth lines and polished surfaces marking the S6 Saloon as another design triumph from Audi. As this is an S6, there are more than a few specialist design touches. For a start there are the matt black painted brake callipers, complete with S6 logo, the chrome mirror housings, the 'S' body-coloured side sill trims and even privacy glass if you select the Black Edition trim package.
The new Audi S6 Saloon comes with two trim options with each yielding different interior design options. If you choose the Black Edition trim for example you will receive variants such as Piano Black inlays and a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel.
Even if you choose the standard edition however, your S6 Saloon will be decked out with an unbeatable and exclusive interior, with features such as front and rear 'S' super sports seats with lumbar support, 'S' instrument dials and fine leather upholstery throughout.
The new Audi S6 Saloon is a high-end car, and so it needs a special kind of engine to power it. Thankfully Audi has given it an astonishing 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine that mixes turbo charging and petrol direct injection to deliver no less than 443bhp. If that isn't impressive enough, the 4.0-litre V8 also comes with 'Cylinder on Demand' technology, allowing the S6 Saloon to cut fuel injection to 50 percent of the cylinders once the engine is suitably warmed up. You won't be able to spot when it happens whilst driving, but it does help decrease the emissions figures and boost range to 30.7mpg.
As a vehicle with family car capabilities and an executive focus, the new Audi S6 Saloon arrives with plenty of safety equipment and technology to protect the driver, passengers and other road users. As well as six airbags, the S6 Saloon comes equipped with cruise control, hill-hold assist, Audi Parking System Plus and monitoring systems for the seatbelts and tyre pressures. There's also Electronic Stabilisation Control, including ABS, EDL and ASR
