The perfect way to charge. For the fastest charging at home and the most convenient way to charge your Land Rover plug-in hybrid (PHEV), we recommend a professionally installed home charger – also known as a wall box or home charging point.
Before you purchase your vehicle, our recommended home charging providers will help you check the suitability of your property. Installation can depend on factors including the age of your property, availability of private off-street parking and an appropriate power supply.
To start your wall box installation process, your local Land Rover Retailer will help you choose from our two recommended home charging partners: Pod Point or BP Pulse.
A quick survey with your charging provider will determine your home’s suitability for a wall box. General requirements include off-street parking and an appropriate power supply.
Agree an installation date with your chosen provider that is before the delivery date of your vehicle. If you qualify for a government grant to help with the cost, your provider will claim this on your behalf.
Once your installation date comes around, your provider will fit your wall box and talk you through the basics of charging.
To provide you with the most comprehensive charging capabilities and minimum installation lead-time, we work with two wall box providers approved by the UK government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). Both Pod Point and BP Pulse’s fast and wi-fi enabled wall boxes come with a 3-year warranty as standard and are recommended for their quality and reliability.
Since 2009, Pod Point has grown into one of the UK’s largest and most reliable full-service charging solutions.
A Pod Point 7kW tethered unit can be installed from £539 (includes VAT). A Pod Point 7kW untethered unit can be installed from £509 (includes VAT).
Established in 2008, BP Pulse is one of the only full-service charging solution providers in the UK – producing and installing tens of thousands of their own wi-fi enabled and reliable Homecharge units across the country.
A BP Pulse 7kW unit can be installed tethered or untethered from £579 (includes VAT).
Both of our recommended providers offer a choice of tethered and untethered wall boxes.
For convenience, tethered wall boxes include a fixed cable that connects the unit to your vehicle. For more flexibility, untethered wall boxes use the charging cable stored in your vehicle.
All Land Rover PHEVs qualify for the UK government’s Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme. This provides up to £350 towards the installation of a wall box by an approved installer. If you are a resident in Scotland, you may also be eligible for up to £300 in additional support from the Energy Saving Trust.
Not only does plugging in overnight keep your charging routine simple, it also means there’s less demand on the national grid. In turn, you can benefit from substantially cheaper EV tariffs and a renewable energy promise from several providers.
Specific charging times can be set via your Land Rover InControl smartphone app¹.
