To meet the demands of inner-city logistics, the Econic combines the durability and carrying capacity of a truck with the manoeuvrability and ergonomics of a van. With a low visual impact and easy low floor access, the state-of-the-art Econic provides an ideal transport solution for inner city operation.
Available with a range of fuel efficient Diesel Engines and meeting EEV emissions as standard, the Econic provides an economical solution also. With the addition of Natural Gas powered vehicles to the range and the ability to run on Biogas, the option of even lower CO2 and noise emissions is open to you.
With over 4,500 in operation in the UK, the Econic is a uniquely specialist truck which offers features for municipal operation that are 100% focussed on the job in hand. For operators, the Econic is versatile, nimble and highly manoeuvrable making it the perfect truck for tight city streets and narrow rural lanes. For the crews that work in the truck, the Econic offers the advantages of greater space, easier exit and entry and therefore a smoother operation.
The Econic comes with a range of diesel and natural gas engines that all offer low emissions, low fuel consumption and low noise thus making the Econic the ideal base for refuse and recycling collection, traffic management, Airside support and fire fighting applications.
The Econic offers a central axle-load measuring system to provide a continuous indication of the current load status and the gross weight of the individual axles.
The Econic’s environmentally friendly engines offer reduced noise, reduced consumption and reduced emissions as well as being packed with innovative ideas.
Whether powered by diesel or gas, the Econic engines are designed to take the typical stresses a special purpose vehicle faces on a daily basis, including long-term operation in stop/go traffic and the frequent use of a PTO. The engines are also available with a range of rear engine drive PTOs.
The range of straight-6 engines includes both 6.4L and 7.2L diesel engines from 175 kW to 240 kW and a 6.9L Natural Gas engine with 205 kW, all offering emission outputs complying with the EEV emission standard (Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicle).
