The availability of the services described in the We Connect and We Connect Plus packages may differ between countries and depend on the model, model year and vehicle equipment.
Standard features
Features such as Emergency Call Service and eCall Emergency System come as standard with We Connect. To transfer personalised services from one vehicle to another, you will need a Discover Media or Discover Pro infotainment system as well as a Volkswagen ID user account and a login for We Connect.
We Connect
We Connect opens up Volkswagen’s digital services to you and makes you Volkswagen connected. Following a one-off activation, you can use We Connect’s features free of charge. All you have to do is sign up to We Connect online via Volkswagen.

The entire world of digital services from Volkswagen brings connectivity to a new level: with your Volkswagen ID and “We Connect Plus” activation, you have access to extra smart functions: from smart navigation with real-time information and media streaming and Internet radio to using your smartphone as a remote control. For even more convenience and entertainment.
Usage of these services requires you to sign up online to a separate We Connect Plus contract with Volkswagen AG. For We Connect Plus, following vehicle handover, you have 90 days in which to register the vehicle at www.myvolkswagen.net or using the “Volkswagen We Connect” app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store) and use the services for the full duration of the free initial period (depending on equipment: for example, one year for Discover Media and Ready 2 Discover or three years for Discover Pro).

1.When you buy a new vehicle, you have the opportunity to use digital services from VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus for the free initial contract period. To use the VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus services, you must have a Volkswagen ID user account and need to log in with your username and password. Once the Volkswagen ID user account has been successfully set up and linked to your vehicle, you can use the vehicle-, country-, software- and equipment-specific digital services for an initial contract period free of charge. For this purpose, a separate VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus contract must be concluded with Volkswagen AG online at www.myvolkswagen.net or via the “Volkswagen” app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). The actual length of the free contract period depends on when you activate the digital services. From the ninetieth day after initial delivery at the latest, the free initial contract period will begin to reduce automatically. You can view the exact contract period for your specific vehicle on myVolkswagen www.myvolkswagen.net. For customers with VW Connect and VW Connect Plus: The use of mobile online services is enabled by means of an integrated Internet connection. For the use of Internet Radio, Wi-Fi hotspot and Alexa, where available, data packages can be purchased from Cubic Telecom, our mobile communications partner, and used in the network coverage area within many European countries. The data in these packages can be used by all users and vehicle occupants. You can find information on conditions, prices and supported countries at vw.cubictelecom.com. Alternatively, you can use the Internet Radio, Wi-Fi hotspot and Alexa, where available, with a mobile device (e.g. smartphone), provided it has the ability to function as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. In this case, the corresponding function is only available subject to an existing or separate mobile phone contract between you and your mobile network operator and only within the coverage area of the respective mobile network. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad. For customers with We Connect and We Connect Plus: The use of mobile online services is enabled by means of an integrated Internet connection. For the use of the streaming services, individual in-car apps and the Wi-Fi hotspot, data packages can be purchased from Cubic Telecom, our mobile communications partner, and used in the network coverage area within many European countries. The data in these packages can be used by all users and vehicle occupants. You can find information on conditions, prices and supported countries at vw.cubictelecom.com. Alternatively, you can use these services with a mobile device (e.g. smartphone) with the ability to function as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. In this case, the corresponding services are only available subject to an existing or separate mobile phone contract between you and your mobile network operator and only within the coverage area of the respective mobile network. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider is required to use the free app “Volkswagen”. The services included in the We Connect and We Connect Plus or VW Connect and VW Connect Plus packages may vary by country. Availability also depends on vehicle model, equipment and software version installed. This also applies to third-party services. The services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes or ceased during the contract period.
