In the BMW i3 50 xDrive Saloon, two electric motors power the vehicle with up to 345 kW (469 hp)¹. The completely new generation of high-voltage batteries with 800-volt technology enables ultra-fast DC charging of up to 400 kW¹, ⁴ when connected to a compatible high-power DC charging infrastructure. This allows you to recharge enough energy in just 10 minutes to cover a distance of up to 248 miles¹, ⁵. Bidirectional charging can also be used as an energy storage system or mobile power source – offering complete flexibility at home or on the road.

The range after 10 minutes High-Power-Charging was determined according to ISO12906 in the WLTP cycle. Official WLTP figures are not yet confirmed; the values shown are preliminary and WLTP-based. This, as well as the charging performance depend on vehicle equipment, the state of charge and health of the battery, battery temperature, individual driving profile, use of auxiliary users, ambient temperature, and the charging power provided at the charging station. High speed public charging stations are currently available in limited numbers in the UK, most commonly found in high traffic areas such as motorway service stations. Availability continues to grow and more information on charger locations can be found at: https://bmw-public-charging.com/web/en/bmw-gb/map. Use of AC charging stations for your regular charging and less frequent use of DC fast charging stations will help optimise the health and life of your battery.
