Electric mobility for
the real world: BMW have unveiled the 530e iPerformance Saloon.
Building on the existing success of its 5 Series executive saloon, BMW have significantly diversified the range with the launch of its new plug-in hybrid, the 530e iPerformance.
Honing in on the advantages of electric mobility, while still staying true to BMW staples of dynamics and power, are key characteristics of the 530e. Its Lithium-Ion high voltage battery has a capacity of 9.2kWh, earning the model the esteemed title of the most efficient BMW 5 Series to date. Producing just 46g/km of C02, the 530e will reduce its tailpipe emissions to absolutely zero when full electric mode is used, making it an uncompromisingly green way to travel.
The BMW 530e iPerformance Saloon is determined to maintain its status as a reliable, opulent and commanding business vehicle, and it certainly succeeds through its incredible driving range. On a single charge, the 530e can cover 400 miles of practical everyday motoring, with 29 miles of purely electric power at a top speed of 87mph.
The 530e will even stride from 0 to 62mph in 6.2 seconds, with a top speed of a spine-tingling 146mph; there’s certainly no tedium to be found in this enviable EV.
