As yet unnamed, but still making a big impression, Hyundai have unveiled a preview of tomorrow’s fuel cell car – today.
The hydrogen-powered SUV was revealed in Seoul, almost production-ready and well in advance of its official launch in early 2018. Demonstrating the power of arresting design alongside trailblazing fuel cell technology, the new vehicle will underline Hyundai’s new eco-vehicle development journey; reams of industry-leading research and real-world testing are adding significant weight to the brand’s upcoming catalogue, showcasing the best of fuel cell-based electric-powertrain cars.
With an efficiency level of 60%, the new SUV is earmarked to cover a range of 800km on a single charge, alongside an impeccable 163PS of power. Overcoming concerns regarding cold start capability below freezing point, Hyundai’s cornerstone will also be able to start up in temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius, alongside durable catalyst technology to ensure a longer lifespan.
Set to further increase the popularity of eco-friendly cars across the globe, full details of the SUV’s features, pricing and moniker will be released at CES 2018, taking place in Las Vegas in January.
