*Hyundai test data for comparison purposes. Actual time will vary and is dependent on a number of factors including battery temperature, condition and age, ambient temperature and the power provided by the charger. Charge time increases in cold weather and if battery temperature activates safeguarding technology. Ultra-fast chargers are currently available on selected motorways/major arterial routes – see the Charge myHyundai app or Charge myHyundai map for details.

In the UK there are now more public charging point locations than there are petrol stations. The infrastructure is constantly expanding, and is updated via the satellite navigation system within each Hyundai. To also access the latest locations online, and their operational status we’d recommend looking at Zap Map; https://www.zap-map.com/live/
Similar to a combustion engine car which can have fuel economy affected by different factors, an electric car is the same. Outside temperature, number of passengers or luggage in the car, driving style, and load on the battery from aspects such as heated seats, or air conditioning can alter the driving range that can be achieved.
As there are less moving parts than a combustion engine, the servicing schedule doesn’t include aspects such as oil changes, and due to regenerative braking there is often less wear imposed on the brake pads and discs.
Dependent on the type of journeys you do, an electric car is cheap to recharge compared to filling the fuel tank on a combustion engine powered car, especially if you can benefit from cheaper overnight electricity tariffs. Low BIK rates for business users also make electric cars a cost effective option.
All approved Hyundai retailers with a Servicing department are trained to work on electric technology. You can locate your nearest Servicing retailer here; https://www.hyundai.co.uk/retailer-locator
Most people will not have to upgrade their domestic electricity supply, you will probably want to invest in a dedicated ‘wallbox’ charging point for your home if you have off-street parking. Once installed a wallbox will mean you can charge your car faster than you could on a regular socket, and in complete safety.
If an electric car breaks down due to lack of charge, most roadside assistance companies will be able to charge it up.
Cold weather slows down chemical reactions within the battery, meaning the car must use additional power.
This is an understandable question, given that everyone knows not to mix electricity and water. However, electric cars are required to meet the same safety requirements as petrol and diesel cars. Charging stations and plugs are all insulated, so it’s perfectly safe to charge in the rain.
