EXTERIOR

The designers were clear that the Lexus RX’s distinctive coupe-like profile had to be preserved. This time, however, not only is the Lexus RX L Hybrid longer at the rear, but the angle of its tailgate has been made steeper. This fine adjustment contributes to the comfort offered on the third-row seats inside the car, and has also sparked change in the position of the rear wiper mechanism, which has now been moved to the bottom of the window. The exterior of the Lexus RX L Hybrid features; L-shaped LED tail lights that wrap into the rear fenders, and the signature Lexus spindle grille as a focal point, completed by elegantly blacked-out C-pillars, creating a floating roof effect. The Lexus RX L Hybrid combines the versatility of an SUV with all the hallmarks of dynamic design. ​​​​​

INTERIOR

The RX L Hybrid features enhanced cargo versatility. With an additional 110mm (4.3 inches) in length, and the steeper tailgate window angle, the Lexus RX L Hybrid offers the option for you to transform it into a seven-seat vehicle. With just the pull of a lever, the relevant section of the second row seats slide forward, allowing easy access to the third row. Each of the outer seats in the second row feature ISOFIX child seat anchor points. The two third-row seats offer the same comfort and luxury as those in the second row, and benefit from separate air conditioning controls and vents, plus a pair of cupholders. Load space behind the third row is plentiful, and can be made more so with the power folding function of the rearmost seats. ​​​​

PERFORMANCE

The self-charging Lexus Hybrid Drive system offered in the Lexus RX L Hybrid pairs a D4-S injection 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with a 37kW hybrid battery powering two high-torque electric drive motor-generators. These produce a full system output of 308bhp for strong acceleration and overtaking performance. E-Four - Lexus’ intelligent AWD system - comes standard on this hybrid model, and uses an independent rear-mounted electric motor to drive the rear wheels in demanding conditions. ​​

TECHNOLOGY AND SAFETY

The Lexus RX L Hybrid has been awarded a top five-star rating from the Euro NCAP independent safety testing organisation. The side curtain airbags are full-length and cover all three rows, while every model comes with a comprehensive suite of Lexus Safety System+ controls. These features include Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC); Pre-Collision System (PCS); Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) with BladeScan™; Road Sign Recognition (RSA); Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and Lane Trace Assist (LTA).
