Experience a relaxed drive, more comfortable living and more efficient working: the Actros L redefines the premium class of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. It boasts an impressive premium interior, with an impressive variety of optional and innovative features.
Aiming to enhance driver comfort and convenience, the Actros L sets new standards with stylish seat covers, new door trim, a comfortable mattress with 45mm topper and a pleasantly tactile cab rear panel in the bed area. Cab options include StreamSpace, BigSpace and GigaSpace. All have a 2.5-metre-wide cab with flat floor. There is also additional insulation to reduce noise level, including foam parts to prevent structural and air borne noise. Additional sealing measures have been put into places alongside new floor covers and an insulation fleece – also further enhancing heat insulation. The seating position has been lowered by 40mm for more relaxed driving and comfortable view of the road.
“When developing the Actros L we placed particular focus on driver comfort, safety, connectivity and Total Cost of Ownership to create further benefits in these aspects for our customers and their drivers. Thanks to the close dialogue with customers there is clear knowledge of what they want from a premium truck for both their company and their drivers. Its precisely these requirements that we have addressed with the Actros L.”
Andreas von Wallfeld, Head of Marketing, Sales and Service at Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
No engine tunnel – more space for the greatest living comfort.
Multimedia cockpit – fully digital 12-inch instrument cluster offers plenty of opportunity to make individual adjustments to the driver’s trip and vehicle information settings. Using the new Touch Control Buttons, it’s very easy to operate.
Modern and intuitive – easy to drive and simple operation.
MirrorCam – two small streamlined camera arms are mounted on the roof frame, eliminating the need for the conventional large exterior mirrors whilst still giving you a split wide-angled view and saving fuel. Inside the cab you’ll find two upright monitors mounted on the left and right pillar - which automatically adjusts the brightness during difficult weather conditions, you can also do this manually. When cornering the camera automatically pans, and tracks the end of the trailer, always keeping it in the picture. After a short familiarisation period, drivers experience the advantages of the MirrorCam in many different situations. Overtaking, manoeuvring, driving in poor visibility and darkness just to name a few. Mercedes-Benz are supplying these as a standard - the only manufacturer in the industry worldwide doing this to date.
Active Brake Assist 5 – now fitted as standard on certain vehicle models. Using a sensor fusion of radar and high-performance camera. This system is able to issue automated emergency braking within the system limits. Not only for stationary and moving obstacles but also for moving pedestrians. First of all the system gives a visual and audible warning and initiates partial braking. If the driver doesn’t react Active Brake Assist 5 triggers automated emergency braking and activates hazard warning lights. A new chapter in safety.
Active Drive Assist – much like adaptive cruise control, Active Drive Assist allows you to set the speed of the vehicle. Using the Active Brake Assist cameras, when traffic is detected ahead the vehicle will automatically slow down. Stop and Go Function allows the vehicle to start moving automatically, without operation of the accelerator pedal. In addition to this the radar and camera senses use this to precisely capture the surroundings, using this to calculate lane markings, lane width and vehicle position. When all system conditions are met, Active Drive Assist is activated and guides the truck, meaning the driver no longer has to actively steer but can intervene and take control of the steering at any time.
