Making their debut at CES, the international consumer electronics and technology trade show in Las Vegas, Mercedes-Benz Vans have exhibited a host of new developments, centring particularly on the future of online retail logistics.
Working towards holistic solutions within the sector, the brand took the opportunity show off their “Vision Van” concept, where transport, digitisation and customer service intertwine for a catch-all strategy.
The Vision Van offers a digital path between depot and delivery, with unrivalled convenience and flexibility for the end customer; a fully automated load compartment, integrated drones for autonomous air deliveries and cutting-edge joystick control allow for a feasible projection of the courier service of the future.
Also working to care for the environment, the Vision Van is powered by a 75 kW electric drive system, with a range of up to 270 km; so, hours are on the road are not only emissions-free, but completely silent.
Mercedes-Benz Vans also used CES as a platform to discuss their collaborations with start-ups in the high-tech scene, welcoming a new culture where design and innovation take prominence over the brand’s development of commercial vehicles and associated business remedies.
