An ECO-PRO mode also provides an efficiency guide on your BMW’s centre display, advising you of how an adjustment of your driving style can help keep your fuel use in check; gentle acceleration, limiting air con use and faster gear shifts can all reduce consumption by up to 20%. In addition, Reduced Rolling Resistance Tyres make use of heat-resistant, anti-distortion materials to reduce flex and improve fuel consumption.
Beneath the hood, EfficientDynamics also influence your BMW’s internal masterpiece; its engine. BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engines combine common-rail direct injection, a turbocharger and Variable Vane Geometry for an effortless trove of pure power. Active Aerodynamics also work to help your engine reach its optimum temperature faster, as well as cooling the engine and brakes, but only when required.
