The first BMW M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive combines the high performance of a BMW M3 with the flexibility and functionality of a Touring:
BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine.
The BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine features superior power delivery and the striking characteristic M engine sound. Two mono-scroll turbochargers, direct High-Precision Injection, fully variable valve control and variable camshaft control offer high performance.
M-specific suspension.
With its large track width and broadly flared wheel arches, the suspension is optimised specifically for M. It offers high performance handling and increases the performance and response of the new M3 Competition Touring.
M xDrive.
BMW M xDrive with Active M Differential offers high traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear-wheel drive with the control of an all-wheel drive. You can choose between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC-off mode – 2WD.
M-specific design of the rear section.
The rear of the new BMW M3 Competition Touring is defined by the distinct rear bumper with diffuser and the twin tailpipes on either side.
M Carbon ceramic brake.
The M Carbon ceramic brake delivers braking power even more directly. The brake is non-corrosive and tolerates even more heat. It impresses with minimal wear and contributes to a lower vehicle weight, having a positive impact on agility and driving dynamics. The special technical equipment is visible through calipers in the optional colour Gold matt with M logo on the outside. Due to specific material properties, increased operating noise may occur during braking, e. g. in case of prolonged, low load or in wet conditions shortly before vehicle standstill. The design-related noise can be avoided by braking the brake dry in case of wetness or loading the brake more heavily after a long, low braking load. The influence of wetness and road salt cause brake effectiveness to correspond to that of a conventional brake system. This reduced braking power can be compensated for with a greater pressure on the pedal. The functional noises have no influence on the performance, operational safety and stability of the brake.
M Carbon exterior styling.
Optional M Carbon exterior styling underline the athletic elements of the vehicle. Spoiler elements in the front bumper and exterior mirror caps are made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). The package is rounded off by a striking carbon-fibre diffuser insert at the rear.
M Carbon bucket seats.
The M Carbon bucket seat with illuminated M3 logo combines the racing character of a bucket seat with the comfort of an M sport seat. It is lighter, electrically adjustable and has visible carbon surfaces. The backrest and seat bolsters have cut-outs for multi-point belts and the head pad can be removed for driving with a helmet.
Full leather 'Merino' Black.
Optional full leather 'Merino' X3SW Black with partial perforation, contrast stitching in Black Grey and Alcantara accent stripes in Grey.
M Carbon steering wheel.
The M Carbon steering wheel provides a racing feel. The carbon-fibre trim strips in the spokes surround the operating elements and complement the high-quality feel of the steering wheel. The racing-tested material fits the dynamically designed interior visually, too.

The 8-speed Steptronic sport transmission offers both comfortable and sporty gear changes – automatically and also manually via rocker switch.
M Sport differential.
Especially when changing lanes, cornering or when there are changing road conditions, the M Sport differential improves traction and driving stability. Thanks to the permanent, continuously variable differential lock control and electronically controlled multi-disc lock, you experience optimum grip and directional stability in every driving situation.
Adaptive LED Headlights.
The Adaptive LED Headlights always provide optimum illumination. Eye-catcher: the blue staging and the inverted L-shape of the daytime driving lights.
M exterior mirrors.
The aerodynamically optimised M exterior mirrors in Black high-gloss with a two-bar design not only set an impressive accent in contrast to the vehicle colour but also provide a clear overview in every situation thanks to their aspherical glasses.
M high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim with extended elements.
The M high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim with extended elements complements the contents of the M High-gloss Shadow Line with a BMW kidney grille and tailpipe trims in Black.
M Sport seats for driver and front passenger.
The optional M Sport seats at the front with bucket seat character and partly integrated head restraint offer optimum lateral support in bends. The backrest width and lumbar support are individually adjustable and the head restraints are electrically height-adjustable. Pronounced contours and the black M logo underscore the sporty character of the cockpit.
M leather steering wheel.
The M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons and steering wheel rim in Black 'Walknappa' leather offers an ideal feel and sporty look for a dynamic driving experience.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional with its large curved display expands BMW Live Cockpit Plus with a full-colour head-up display. (Standard on M3 Competition Touring, optional on M340i xDrive and M340d xDrive models).
Rocker switch for manual gear changes.
The 8-speed M Steptronic sport transmission with Drivelogic has numerous gearshift options: manual or automatic and from sporty to comfort. (Only available on M340i xDrive and M340d xDrive models).
M gear selector.
The M gear selector switch features an M specific switch pattern and excellent operability. In manual "S" mode, the driver can shift gears manually using the selector lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel in typical M fashion; in "D" mode, shifting occurs automatically. The Drivelogic switch and the P button are placed under the M logo.

Smartphone integration.
Smartphone integration connects your smartphone wirelessly to your vehicle via Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. This allows you to conveniently use functions and various apps directly via the control display.
BMW Remote Software Upgrade.
So your BMW is always up to date. Remote Software Upgrades can be downloaded via the My BMW App or in the vehicle and then installed.
BMW Digital Key.
The optional Comfort Access makes it possible to open all of the vehicle doors without actively using the key and additionally includes the BMW Digital Key.

The BMW rear bicycle rack Pro 2.0 is lightweight yet sturdy and can carry up to 60 kg. Outstandingly easy to handle, it can transport two bicycles or e-bikes (can be extended to accommodate three bicycles). Its tilt function allows easy access to the luggage compartment at any time.
